Among the activities marking the 20th anniversary of Slovenia, the Government Communication Office (GCO) - in cooperation with the Picture Slovenia web portal - has organised a photography competition entitled Picture Slovenia: 20 Years.

Among the activities marking the 20th anniversary of Slovenia, the Government Communication Office (GCO) - in cooperation with the Picture Slovenia web portal - has organised a photography competition entitled Picture Slovenia: 20 Years. The panel of judges, which completed its work on 23 December 2010, awarded first prize to a photograph entitled Ribiča (Two Fishermen) by Robert Kruh. The second prize was awarded to the photograph entitled Zadnji žarki (Last Rays) by Darko Brenk, while the third went to Jani Novak for Rezalec (Steel Cutter).

The competition organisers (Primož Žižek, from Picture Slovenia portal, and Darijan Košir, the Director of GCO) and the first three prize-winning photographers (Robert Kruh, Darko Brenko and Jani Novak) today presented their photos to Danilo Türk, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Pavel Gantar, the President of the National Assembly, and Borut Pahor, the Prime Minister.
