Exhibition on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the plebiscite on Slovenia's independence

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the plebiscite on Slovenia's independence, the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia have prepared an exhibition to honour this historic moment for Slovenia.

The exhibition offers an overview of events between November 1990 and January 1991. The curators have compiled invaluable material which has never been seen by the general public. The exhibition is in three sections: 'Before the plebiscite', 'The day of the plebiscite', and 'After the plebiscite'.

The opening of the exhibition with a preview is at Cankarjev dom on 23 December 2010. The exhibition is be open from 24 December 2010 to 18 January 2011; it then travels around Slovenia, to be hosted by museums, archives, a theatre, and in secondary schools in Murska Sobota, Novo mesto and Ptuj.

The material was compiled and selected in collaboration with the National Museum of Contemporary History, the National Assembly, the Secretariat-General of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of the Interior, the Government Communication Office, the National Electoral Commission, the National and University Library, and RTV Slovenia.
